Additional Thoughts About the Number 70

A test concerning the number 70 in it's relation to Israel may

be of interest. In 2011 Tel Aviv was named the best gay travel

destination in the world. The destruction of Sodom and the

flood of Noahs time were both preceeded by gross sexual

Indecencies. Although sexual alternatives are being tested

throughout the world God would have a greater interest in

these practicies as they happen in Israel.

It is possible that God after having given Israel

new life may limit its life span due to the same error that

Sodom committed.

This could come about through war or negotiations.

Or it might be that old Jerusalem is lost to the Jews.

Adding 70 to 1948 gives us 2018.

If 2018 is the approximate date of this loss of the nation

of Israel, and it actually takes place, God would be making

a statement of great import to the Jewish people.

Could any of this bring Jews to Christ?

Could that be the event for the Jews that helps them

recognize what Jesus meant when He said to them

"For I tell you this, you will never see me again until you say,

'Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the LORD!'"

Mt 23:39.

A Third Temple?

There is an interesting twist to the control of Jerusalem

and of the control of the Temple area. It is greatly desired

by many that a third Temple be built by the Jews in order

to resume the animal sacrifices that had taken place there

in ancient times. Currently control of the Temple area is in

the hands of Muslims due to the presence of The Dome of

the Rock on the very site of the old Temples. This control

was given to the Muslims after the Israeli army captured it in

1967. It may be that God will not allow animal sacrifice

to resume because the Catholic Church practices the

unbloody sacrifice of the Mass that Jesus instituted in the

last supper. The abomination of desolation (Mt 24:15-16)

may very well have something to do with the Catholic Mass

and the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist.

In ancient times the presence of God was said to be in the

tabernacle and refered to as the Shekinah. The presence of

Jesus resides in the tabernacle of every Catholic church.

If this is the case then the third Temple can never be built

as long as the Catholic Mass continues. This may be

another reason to contemplate the loss of old Jerusalem

to the Jewish people. It would be a statement to the

Jewish people that the old covenant has given way to the

new covenant.

The new covenant is the completion of the old covenant.
